What are freshwater pearls?

These are pearls grown in mussels, which live in ponds, rivers and lakes.  They can be many shapes, but are often oval or teardrop.  They have a solid nacre which resists chipping or wear.  However, as they are organic, they do need to be treated with care.

How do I care for my pearls?

Pearls are organic & so the surface can be damaged. Don't wear them while swimming, nor bathing.  Take care not to spray them with perfume, hair products or other chemicals.

How do I care for my silver jewellery?

The best way to clean jewellery is with a silver cleaning cloth.  These can be bought from many high street stores.  Silver dip can be used on plain silver jewellery, but it will damage pearls or other soft stones.  Keep your jewellery clean by avoiding spray from perfume, hair products or other chemicals.

I bought a gift for someone who doesn't like it.  Can I get a credit?

Sure, as long as it's still in perfect condition.  See our returns policy here for full details.

Why aren't my silver earrings hallmarked?

The law states that any items weighing over 7 grams must be hallmarked.  No earring will weigh that much.  However your earring is stamped with our initials and the numbers "925".  That's our promise to you that they are 925 sterling silver.
